MEHEDINTI County
Mehedinti County lies down in
the South – Western part of Romania
and has 4,933 km2 surface (2.1% of
the country’s total). The biggest
European river – the Danube River,
represents the South border. To the
West, the county neighbours the
Caras – Severin District and to the
North and East neighbours the Gorj
and Dolj Districts.

The population of the county,
according to the last census, is
322,000 inhabitants, having a
population density of 67.8 inhabitants/
km2 and the town population percent
is 47.2%.
The administrative center of
Mehedinti County is Drobeta Turnu
Severin municipality with a total
population of 117,000 inhabitants.
The geographical location of
Drobeta Turnu Severin has favoured
its development as an industral,
transportation and commercial center.

agriculture and connected services,
